Great How to..Good pic and easy to follow along..much better than what I found on the Joomla site.

Using Joomla 1.5.11

Thing is, I got stuck at #4. My Joomla doesnt say Category.. it says News feeds instead..

Really wasn't a big deal there...It did have similar babies branching off the word Newsfeeds. I tried all '3' (Category List Layout, Category Layout and Single Feed Layout)

In neither of them did I see the same parameters you show. Hence, I wasn't able to select my newly created category, nor did I see things like # of links, Table Headings etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried to click on "Articles" under "Menu Item Type"? Under "Articles" you can find the appropriate links to create a "Category Blog" and "Category List" layout.

Hi thanx for the info. I was wondering why my feed shows {gallery}/foo/foo{/gallery}. It's ot just that module any module that can be placed in article with {} brackets.

Thanx in advance

You're welcome. As it seems you use a gallery module and/or component which isn't interpreted correctly by Joomla's feed component; this is why you get to see {gallery}etc.. in the feed and not the gallery with the pictures.

If nothing else works, use an intro (read more) for the article with only some presentation image(s) (using xhtml img tags). In this way only the intro will be displayed in your feed.

When using my rss url (works fine when i use firefox to open it) Feedburner says the url is not valid
"We could not find a valid feed at that address. Here are some possible reasons this might have happened:"

see feedvalidator.org/.../

Anyone tips on how to tackle this?

thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!
It's sooooo simple!

Just another trick i've tryed with success:
you don't need to create the "pseudo-menu-item"... you just have to create your rss-feed URL:
www.yoursite.xxx/.../

Just put the right category number... that's all!

You're very welcome!

The trick you said you've tried, is exactly the same thing I explained in the article. For inexperienced Joomla users is simpler to create the pseudo-menu item of the category/section, in order to view the ID.

Hi Chris. Have you tried to subscribe with any other RSS reader? Maybe it has something to do with your server configuration? On what link you get a forbidden message?

great, but I need all my articles to show -- so all you need to do is change the article ID from the number to "all" as below:

index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=all&format=feed&type=rss
