How to display a module in an article

You probably also needed some time to display a module in a Joomla article. This Joomla Tip will explain to you how to do it. The Tip has been tested on Joomla 1.5 in Legacy as well as in Native mode. Only condition for it to work is that the default Joomla plugin called "Load Module" is enabled.

  • To check if the "Load Module" plugin is indeed enabled, click on the "Plugin Manager" from menu "Extensions".

  • In the list of installed Joomla plugins look for the plugin with the title "Content - Load Module" and in case it isn't enabled, enable it.

Details

  • First you have to change the settings of the module to be displayed within an article. So go to the menu "Extensions" and click on "Module Manager".

  • Now look for the name of the module you need to edit and click on it.

  • Now you are on the Edit page of the module and you can modify its settings. There on the upper left look for the input field "position" and click on it (not on the arrow).

  • Inside the input field type a unique name for the new "position" at which you want to display the module.

  • After you are ready, click on "Save" in order to save the changes you've done.

  • Now you need to create a new article, in which you want the module to be displayed. So go to menu "Content" and click on "Article Manager".

  • There and on the upper right corner click on "New" to create a new article.

  • On the Edit page with the settings for your new article and on the upper left, type in a name, alias for the article and choose its section/category.

  • Now inside the Editor type { loadposition myposition } (between the { } and the text don't type any spaces), where "myposition" is the new position you typed in before on the module's Edit page. The content of the article may contain everything you want i.e. pictures and text. The module will be displayed at the position where you typed { loadposition myposition }.

  • After you have prepared your article click on "Save" on the upper right corner, in order to save your work.
