Current Version: 1.2.0 (24/09/2009)
Compatibility:

This module displays in a nice sortable table the links that are created with the Joomla component "LinX - Reciprocal link exchange component (SEO)", which is developed by Soren Beck Jensen. The script that this module uses to sort the table is in JavaScript and developed by Brian McAllister. Ofcourse, in order for this module to function, you need to have the LinX component already installed on your Joomla Website. This module was only tested in Joomla 1.5 "Legacy: 1.0" mode and it worked without any problems. The "Val-LinX" module is free software, which has been released under the GNU/GPL v2.0 license. It produces valid markup for XHTML as well as for CSS.
1. Installation
- Go to your Joomla administration backend and on the menu Extensions and click on "Install/Uninstall".

- Upload the file contained here by clicking on "Browse..." and selecting the zipped file.

- Click on "Upload file & Install".

Now the module "Val-LinX" is installed in Joomla and you can use it.
2. Configuration
- Go to the menu "Extensions" and click on "Module Manager".

- Now look for the module name "Val-LinX", it should be disabled.
- Click on the module's name to edit it. Now you are in the module configuration screen.
- First of all you can enter a suffix to be applied to the CSS class of the module, for individual styling.

- Choose the ID of the category you would like to display links from.

- Choose the CSS file with the styles you want to use for the module. Altogether there are 5 different files, from which 1 of them (user.css) can be changed by you, in case you want to use your own styles. The path to the user.css file is modules/mod_vallinx_j10/css/user.css. The graphics files (table header backgrounds) that are used by the file user.css can be found in the directory modules/mod_vallinx_j10/images/user in case you want to upload your own ones.

- Under that you can:
- Choose "Yes" if you want the caption with the Total Links to be displayed above the table.
- Enter your own text for the caption with the Total Links.
- Enter your own text for the link that is displayed at the end of table (Back to Top).

- Choose if you want to:
- Enter your own text for the header of the column "Name" of the Links.
- Use the extra CSS style for the column, which is defined in every CSS file and defaults to "left alignment of the text". If you want to change it, there is a CSS class named "#links .linkName" at the end of all CSS files which applies to it.

- Choose if the "Link" column width will be manually defined by you (by entering a number suffixed with % or px like in CSS definitions) or automatically.

- Choose if you want to display the "Description" of the link.

- Choose if you want to:
- Enter your own text for the header of the column "Description" of the Links.
- Use the extra CSS style for the column, which is defined in every CSS file and defaults to "left alignment of the text". If you want to change it, there is a CSS class named "#links .linkDesc" at the end of all CSS files which applies to it.

- Choose if the "Description" column width will be manually defined by you (by entering a number suffixed with % or px like in CSS definitions) or automatically.

- Choose if you want to display the "Date" added of the link.

- Choose if you want to:
- Enter your own text for the header of the column "Date" of the Links.
- Use the extra CSS style for the column, which is defined in every CSS file and defaults to "left alignment of the text". If you want to change it, there is a CSS class named "#links .dateAdded" at the end of all CSS files which applies to it.

- Choose if the "Date" column width will be manually defined by you (by entering a number suffixed with % or px like in CSS definitions) or automatically.

- In order to activate the module Val-LinX, on the top left you can:
- Enter a title for the module.
- Choose if you want the title to be displayed.
- Click on "Yes" if you want the module to be displayed on your Website.
- Choose the position of the module in your Website (positions may vary on different Templates). In case you want the module to be displayed within an article follow these instructions of the Joomla! Tip. You may have more than one Val-LinX module on a single web page, as long as you use the same CSS file (from inside the parameters), in order to avoid duplicate includes of the CSS files.
- Choose the order of the module (among other modules) within the position you chose before.

- When you are ready click on "Save" to save the module's settings.

Comments
As I mention in the (updated) documentation of the module, only 1 CSS file may be used. All the elements of the module share the same CSS classes (which makes possible the use of various CSS files).
Read the updated documentation here where I already state that; in the parameters of all module copies have to be selected the same CSS file.
Please vote for the module at the Joomla Extensions (extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/8136/details) site if you like it. Thanks!
There's one more thing though. All the multiple modules share the same theme. Is it a bug? Can multiple modules displayed at same page, each has different color theme?
But, I could not put more than one module at my front page. Why is that?
I tried to put several modules to display different categories of weblinks but only one module was displayed at the front page.
Please help. Thanx..
Today I'll have the new version available for download at Google code. With the new version you will be able to put as many copies of the module you wish, you just have to publish them in different module positions and use the same CSS from the module parameters in order to avoid duplicate includes of the CSS files.
If you experience problems or bugs with the component LinX (extensions.joomla.org/extensions/ads-&-affiliates/text-&-link-ads/825/details) you should post them at their support forum (www.notwebdesign.com/.../).
I hope they will be able to help you out further.
thank you...
The extension Val-LinX only outputs on the screen the links that are created with Joomla's component LinX Reciprocal Links Exchange (extensions.joomla.org/extensions/ads-&-affiliates/text-&-link-ads/825/details). So probably it's not suitable for you.
I need sort table. Very simple without sone liks. Jquery, Js, Html, Ajax is all what i see about sort table, but how connect it with joomla i can't know.
