Compatibility:
The content plugin ValAddThis is compatible with both Joomla! versions 1.5 as well as 1.6 and 1.7, and it uses the Bookmarking services of AddThis.com. For a complete list of the AddThis features take a look at this page. ValAddThis allows the easy configuration as well the display of the AddThis Button or AddThis Toolbox, in any Joomla article, category, section or frontpage, with or without using plugin tags. ValAddThis will automatically read the article URL, its title and the description, and it will pass them to the AddThis script for you. It produces valid markup for XHTML as well as for CSS 2.1. ValAddThis is free software, which has been released under the GNU/GPL v2.0 license.
This version of the plugin supports the latest AddThis Menu Client API 2.0, in combination with the old API 1.0 (which is still used
to display an RSS-Feed button). With ValAddThis you're also able to display
the new AddThis
Toolbox as well as several other special buttons (such as: LinkedIn and Stumbleupon counters), which aren't supported officially by AddThis yet; for more details on the various configuration options read on. New features in this latest version of ValAddThis plugin will be marked with
this icon: 
All the documentation screenshots were taken in Joomla! 1.5, but they won't look much different in J1.6 and 1.7.
1. Installation
If you already have an older version of the plugin installed, you don't need to uninstall it as it will update itself. Here are the installation steps:
- Go to your Joomla administration backend and on the menu Extensions and
click on "Install/Uninstall" (for J1.7 is "Extension Manager").
- Upload the file contained here by
clicking on "Browse..." and selecting the zipped file.
- Click on "Upload file & Install".
Now the content plugin ValAddThis is installed and you can begin using it.

Easy install, configurable, good working, nice looking, speaks many languages.
I only suggest 1 thing, lets include all icon in 32px size too.

Is there a way to show a version of google plusone without counter? or a way to remove all the counters?
I'm trying to get the plugin to work with a custom image but when I do that the tool box doesn't appear upon hovering it. Are you able to help? Thanks in advance!

I have a question regarding the use of this plugin.
Currently the plugin to exclude categories and / or article for publication, I need to do the opposite, that is, as I can do to make the plugin is published only for the category that you say? need to handle it this way because every time you create a new category to touch me go to the configuration of the plugin and exclude it there.

I have put it on my test site which is in Greek and English. I followed your steps and wrote "en" in the UI Language. However, I still have the "μου αρέσει" next to facebook on the English pages. Can you tell me if I am doing something wrong? My browser language is also in English. If there is no solution, I guess that I would rather have it in english as most greeks are familiar with the word "like".
Nice plugin but... how can I get rid of the 'Know what your users are
sharing, in real time. Add this to analytics' button which appears everytime I press the Share button?
The counter seems to be working, but as it regards the results page this is some kind of Twitter issue for sure; nothing to do with ValAddThis.
